Horsetail is one of the highest natural sources of silica. Silica is a nutrient known for boosting skin, hair and nail health, mainly because it is a key ingredient in collagen creation (a building block of your hair, skin and nails. Because of its collagen-boosting properties, the silica content in horsetail is thought to have anti-aging and skin toning properties. As the skin ages, collagen naturally breaks down and the skin is less able to restore it.
