Herbal Consultation

An herbal consultation is an opportunity to sit down in a relaxed and supportive environment virtually and have an in-depth conversation about your health concerns. Herbalism is a holistic practice where we use tools and practices to assess the health and wellness of your entire being.

During a consultation we’ll discuss much more than just the herbs themselves. We’ll explore food as medicine and ways to nourish and support you through your meals. We’ll talk about what shifts can be made in your life and identify where your edges are in terms of what might be holding you back from healing. These same edges are fertile ground for healing and we’ll think about how we can work with them as a force for positive change. No consultation is complete without discussing the herbs most suited for you, your personal constitution, and condition- your herbal allies.

You will receive your own personalized herbal formula (often a tea, tincture and/or flower essence), an in-depth write-up of your recommendations (herbs, lifestyle and supplement suggestions, as well as nutritional guidance), and ongoing email support. A follow-up visit 4-6 weeks after the initial consult is strongly recommended, and I advise that we work together on your health over a period of 3-6 months for optimal results. Please supply any records of blood and lab work 3-5 days prior to our visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of conditions can herbal medicine address?
There is certainly a time and place for western medicine and care and herbs are not a swap for pharmaceuticals. Conditions commonly addressed include anxiety, stress, depression, anger, frustration, insomnia, trauma, pain, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, menstrual irregularity and issues, low immunity, colds, flus, coughs, infections, respiratory conditions, digestive issues, skin problems, heart and circulatory conditions, maintaining vibrant health, pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, and much much more! Herbal medicine is also a fantastic form of preventative healthcare and can be utilized to maintain vibrant health.

Is herbal medicine right for me?
We can all do our best to buy the highest quality foods, drink the cleanest water and support our bodies but sometimes we need a little extra help. Whether you are blessed with good health and would like to help keep it that way, or are struggling with long-term health issues- herbal medicine can help. Herbalists see the body and its conditions as much more than the sum of its individual parts, and rather a vital, intelligent system that can be brought into balance via the synergy of food as medicine, the herbs, and lifestyle shifts. In this system the client is empowered to be their own healer rather than the “doctor as healer” paradigm found in western medicine, the herbalist serves as a support and guide.

Do you have areas of specialty?
While I work with a wide range of conditions I have a deep affinity to support mental health including anxiety and depression, hormonal regulation and detoxification.

Is it safe? What if I'm taking pharmaceutical medications?
Yes! Herbal medicine is very safe, especially when you are working with a skilled and trained herbalist.  Herbs may be safely used alongside pharmaceuticals when they are chosen appropriately based on potential herb-drug interactions, and there are many herbs that do not negatively interact with any medications at all.

Meet your herbalist

Hi all,

I’m Kacy: yogic guide, spiritual mentor, retreat leader, shadow worker and clinical herbalist. As I’ve been on my healing journey I started to realize how much I loved to teach, I left the corporate world years ago and decided it was time for me to teach yoga full time. This didn’t come easy, it came because I was finally learning to feel in tune with my physical, energetic and mental bodies and was tired of being sick. I traveled the world teaching, still do and in the meantime introduced myself to herbs through self study. I would listen to podcast after podcast and read all I could to “figure out” why I felt how I felt, how I could regulate my nervous system, de-stress, get my gut health in check, balance my emotions and more. During these times I also worked with some incredible naturopathic doctors and healers. I am a type A lady and my favorite past time (besides playing with plants) is research. I am fascinated with the brain and human conditioning and for anyone who’s been in conversation with me knows I ask a lot of questions. I believe the key to a fulfilled life is being heard, being understood and feeling safe to share. These are basic needs and when basic needs are met, we can start to relax just a little bit more, we begin to unfurl the tightly bound petals of the Self and open to a deeper, more profound knowing of our being.

The time to heal is now…

I trained under Debbie Mercier of Greenwood herbals in Limerick, Maine for both my apprenticeship and clinical herbalism. During this time I gained such a deep respect for our plant allies, deep gratitude to our ancestors for sharing this wisdom and a huge appreciation for those of you ready to step forward to optimize your healing. I have strong ties to Ayurvedic medicine and incorporate the Doshas into my client work along with yogic practices, pranayam and meditation. We are multi-faceted beings so not only do we target physical symptoms, we dig to the root, we peel back the layers, we strengthen our life force, our breath, our awareness, we begin to embody our true essence. With balance comes freedom.

I do hope you’ll consider herbal medicine, I am here to support you.

🤍 Kacy
